Dry Ice blasting or CO2 blasting is a dry, non-abrasive cleaning process. Combining pressurized air and dry ice pellets into a blast stream, creates sublimation (the dry ice returning to vapor). The resulting chain reaction cleans surfaces in a way that is non-destructive, making dry ice blasting the preferred cleaning method in the food industry. 

Dry Ice blasting is ideal because it cleans without introducing a secondary waste stream into the atmosphere and most equipment can be cleaned in place. Dry Ice blasting is aggressive enough to remove most surface contaminants, but gentle enough not to harm electrical/motors or the actual surface. This cleaning process will also remove/kill mold and other bacteria and leave just the removed debris to sweep up.
